Meet Mrs. Nagy

I was born in St. Louis and grew up in the Manchester/Ballwin area.  I am a proud South High Patriot and Parkway graduate.  First I attended Carman Trails (just up the road!), then South Middle, and finally graduated from South High.  After high school, I enrolled at Missouri State University in Springfield, MO and graduated with my bachelors in Elementary Education with an emphasis in the social sciences.  For student teaching, I moved back to St. Louis to student teach in Parkway at Wren Hollow Elementary in a 5th grade classroom.

After student teaching, I served Barretts as the building's Teaching Assistant.  From there, I taught first grade.  This will be my fifth year teaching fourth grade!  I currently have teaching certification in Elementary Education 1-6, Middle School Social Sciences 5-8, and Special Reading K-12.  I have my Masters in Special Reading K-12 from Lindenwood University.

When I am not at Barretts, I enjoy spending my time with my family and friends.  At the end of last school year, my husband and I welcomed our son, Zachary. I have fully enjoyed my first summer as a mom!  I am sure our students will also hear a lot about my cats, Luna and Nyx!  Other passions of mine include learning, reading, healthy cooking, and yoga.

I am really looking forward to another fantastic year at Barretts.  I cannot wait to see what this school year has in store for us!
